A Waukee woman was arrested after allegedly repeatedly punching her husband in the face.
Margaret Darlene Kayko, 46, of 575 Whistling Court, Waukee, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 3:45 p.m. Sept. 4 in the 500 block of Whistling Court, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers found the male victim “with a very swollen and bloody mouth,” and the victim told the officers that Kayko “punched” him “in the mouth 4-5 times” in the course of a domestic dispute, according to court records.
Kayko was held in the Dallas County Jail prior to her release on her own recognizance. She is scheduled for arraignment Oct. 19 in Dallas County District Court.
*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
