Beginning Tuesday, Oct. 3, a section of the Raccoon River Valley Trail will be closed near Waukee southeast of the T Avenue crossing, the Dallas County Conservation Department announced Tuesday.
A temporary detour trail around the closure will be available for trail users.
The closure is connected to the ongoing construction of Douglas Avenue and the underpass for the trail, the announcement said. A box culvert will be constructed under the busy street so that trail users can safety cross.
The detour will be in place until next spring, when the box culvert is completed and the new trail is paved.
Trail users are urged to use caution when traveling through the area during the ongoing construction.
