The Perry High School swim team narrowly lost to Carroll High School while soundly beating Algona High School Tuesday night at the McCreary Community Building, in action marking the final home meet for the Jayettes’ five senior swimmers.

“We had some great races tonight!” said PHS Head Coach Jean Dowd. “It was the closest we’ve come to Carroll in a long time. For example Sophia McDevitt, in the 100 fly, was just .01 of a second ahead of Amelia Holt of Carroll.”

The final scores were Carroll 87 to Perry 73, Perry 99 to Algona 59 and Carroll 106 to Algona 54. The meet was scored three ways, with each team allowed two entries per event.
