Mary Elaine Reichelt, 86, was born Dec. 26, 1936, in Ottumwa, Iowa, the daughter of James and Blanche (Morgan) Parrish. She passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Friday, Dec. 15, 2023, at the EveryStep Kavanagh House on 56th in Des Moines, Iowa.
Mary is survived by her loving husband of 40 years, James Reichelt; children, Nick Eakins, Cindy (Joe) Kapp, Lori (Bryan) Melin, Tim (Naomi) Clark, Kathy (Kevin) DePauw and Kerri (Tony) Konshak; daughter-in-law, Patty Reichelt; 16 grandchildren; 25 great-grandchildren; sister, JoAnn Klapp; numerous nieces; nephews; other loving relatives; and many special friends.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sons, Jim Reichelt and Alan Reichelt; and her siblings, Maxine Hart, E.L. “Porky” Parrish, Geraldine Windhorst, Barbara Ellis and Betty Cook.
Cremation has occurred, and a graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 22, 2023, at Shaul Cemetery in Ottumwa, Iowa.
