Jerry Lambert, 79, of Perry passed away Thursday, Dec. 28, 2023, at the Mercy One Medical Center in Des Moines, Iowa.
Funeral services will be held on Tuesday, Jan. 2 at 1 p.m. at the First Christian Church at 1224 Lucinda St. in Perry. Visitation will be Monday, Jan. 1 from 4-6 p.m. at the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care in Perry. Burial will be at the Violet Hill Cemetery in Perry, Iowa.
Jerry Dean Lambert was born March 4, 1944, in Jefferson, Iowa, to Raymond Joseph and June Maxine (Campbell) Lambert.
He graduated from Perry High School with the class of 1962.
Jerry served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War.
He was united in marriage to Trudy Ann Martin at Vermillion, S.D., on April 2, 1968.
Jerry worked at John Deere in Ankeny for 32 years, the Perry school system in the transportation department for 28 years and also owned Lambert Upholstery since 1965.
He was a member of the First Christian Church, the Perry Elks Lodge #407 and the UAW.
Jerry enjoyed golfing, fishing, hunting, working on his show car and watching drag racing.
He was very particular about his yard and was a sports enthusiast.
In death he rejoins his parents, Raymond and June; sisters, Helen Conklin and Charlotte Peterson; and brother, Paul Lambert.
Left to cherish Jerry’s memory are his wife, Trudy Lambert of Perry; children, Jodi Lambert of West Des Moines, Stephen (Glenda) Lambert of Pleasant Hill and Lori Lambert of Perry; grandchildren, Ryan (Cyndy) Phillips, Colton (Mackenzie) Phillips, Christopher (fiancé Kylie Lanning) Lambert, Drew (Nicole) Niebuhr, Jessica Lambert and Shane Travis; great-grandchildren, Ashton, Landon, Emma, Quinton, Kylie, Paisley, Brecken, Drake, Weston, Corbin, Lexi and Kylie; siblings, Nancy (Jim) Collins of Perry, Barry Lambert of Perry, Harry Trevarthan of Perry and Tanna (Tom) Corrigan of Perry.
