The Dallas County Hospital in Perry announced Wednesday the arrival of two new orthopedic surgeons and the introduction of a new service line for treating bladder and bowel incontinence within the hospital’s new ambulatory and infusion center.
The urology procedure can be ordered by a urologist, such as Dr. Jonathan Fialkov, who practices on the first and third Mondays of every month at the DCH Specialty Clinic and on the second and fourth Tuesdays for both clinic and surgery.

DCH also announced Wednesday that Drs. Timothy Vinyard and Benjamin Paulson from Iowa Ortho will join the DCH orthopedics team.
Dr. Vinyard is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon and Fellow of the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons, specializing in sports medicine. He is originally from Ottumwa and has been practicing since 2012.
Dr. Vinyard is a graduate of Coe College, where he competed in both football and baseball. His practice focuses on the non-operative and surgical treatment of professional, amateur and recreational athletes of all ages, sports, and activities. He subspecializes in arthroscopic knee and shoulder surgery.
Throughout his medical training, Dr. Vinyard provided orthopedic coverage for the University of Iowa Hawkeyes, Minnesota Vikings, Minnesota Wild, Minnesota Timberwolves and Minnesota Twins. He is currently the head team physician for the Iowa Wild and the West Des Moines Valley Tigers.
Dr. Vinyard also provides assistant medical coverage for the Iowa Cubs, Drake University Bulldogs and many other Iowa schools and events. He serves as a board member for the House of Mercy as well as a volunteer for the Blue Lips Foundation.
Dr. Vinyard and his wife, Erica, have three children. He enjoys spending his free time with his family as well as golfing, exercising, playing tennis and attending sporting events.
Dr. Benjamin Paulson is a board-certified hand surgeon, specializing in the treatment of hand and upper-extremity disorders. He is originally from Ogden and has been practicing since 2010.
Dr. Paulson was the valedictorian of his graduating class at Washington University in St. Louis, where he was a physics major. He was motivated to enter the orthopedic surgery field by his fascination and enjoyment of attention to detail, mechanics, skin, tendons and tumors.
In his free time, Dr. Paulson enjoys traveling with his family. He has visited all 50 states as well as 54 countries.
“The Dallas County Hospital and Iowa Ortho’s aligning to provide comprehensive orthopedic surgery services at DCH will be beneficial to our communities, local employers, schools, and more,” said DCH CEO Angela Mortoza.
Drs. Vinyard and Paulson will start in March. Additional information on their days of service and how to schedule appointments will be released next month, the hospital said.
