A Perry woman faces assault charges after allegedly cutting her boyfriend.

Jocelyn Ochoa, 24, of 1716 W. Third St., Perry, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 10 p.m. Tuesday, when officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a 911 call at a residence in the 1700 block of W. Third Street.

The officers made contact with the victim, on whom they observed “a cut on his right cheek” and “a couple of cuts” on the victim’s “left elbow area,” according to court records.

The officers made contact with Ochoa, who “admitted to scratching” the victim “during an argument,” according to court records.

Ochoa was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing March 8 in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
