Dallas Center man allegedly assaults, harasses De Soto woman

Zachary Eugene DeCamp, 33, of Dallas Center was arrested Wednesday on charges assault-intent to cause pain/injury and third-degree harassment.

A Dallas Center man was arrested Wednesday on a Dallas County warrant for allegedly assaulting and harassing a De Soto woman.

Zachary Eugene DeCamp, 33, of 404 10th St., Dallas Center, was charged with assault-intent to cause pain/injury and third-degree harassment.

The incident began Feb. 28 about 6:30 p.m. in the 800 block of Dallas Street in De Soto, where an officer of the De Soto Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

DeCamp allegedly “grabbed the victim’s left forearm and pushed her towards one of her mirrors,” according to court records.

DeCamp also allegedly sent text messages to the victim that “caused the victim to be anxious,” according to court records, including messages that urged to victim to self-harm.

DeCamp is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
