Rural Perry man allegedly assaults parents at home Saturday

A rural Perry man was arrested Saturday night after allegedly striking his mother and father in their faces, leaving them both bruised and bleeding.

R. D. Nicolaisen, 33, of 12842 Houston Ave., Perry, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault and willful injury causing bodily injury.

The incident began about 8 p.m. Saturday in the 12800 block of Houston Avenue in rural Perry, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officers made contact with the female victim, who presented with “bruises to her forehead and gashes on her head that were actively bleeding,” according to court records.

The victim told the officers that Nicolaisen allegedly “struck the victim repeatedly in the face with his fist,” according to court records.

The officers made contact with the male victim, who presented with “a bloody nose and gash to the face,” according to court records.

The victim told the officers that he “was assaulted by his son,” who allegedly “struck the victim in the face with his closed fists,” according to court records.

Nicolaisen is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing March 20 in Dallas County District Court.

Nicolaisen was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault in 2019 in Dallas County District Court.
