Perry man allegedly beats girlfriend, holds meth, pot

Maximino Nicanor Albino Plasencia, 23, of Perry was arrested Tuesday on charges of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, first-offense possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

A Perry man was arrested Tuesday on assault and drug charges after allegedly beating his girlfriend with a belt and a shoe.

Maximino Nicanor Albino Plasencia, 23, of 1612 Second St., Perry, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, first-offense possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The incident began Tuesday about 7 p.m. in the 1600 block of Second Street, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

An officer made contact with the victim, who told the officer that Albino Plasencia “hit her with a shoe and beat her with a belt” in the course of a domestic dispute, according to court records.

The officer observed on the victim “a large bruise on her left leg” and “several circular bruises on her arm that are consistent with fingerprints from being grabbed” and “bruises on her chest and stomach,” according to court records.

An officer made contact with Albino Plasencia, and a search of his bag disclosed “a metal grinder with green leafy substance” that was determined to be marijuana and two “small baggies with white powder” and a “plastic vial contained white crystalline powder” that field tested positive for methamphetamine, according to court records.

Albino Plasencia is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing March 22 in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
