A Colfax woman allegedly assaulted a Dallas Center man Sunday night.

Jennifer Lee Osterhout, 34, of 617 S. West St., Colfax, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, interference with official acts and two counts of child endangerment.

The incident began about 9:15 p.m. Sunday in the 100 block of 14th Street in Dallas Center where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

A witness said Osterhout allegedly “pushed her way into” the victim’s “bedroom, hitting him about the head and neck area, causing red marks,” and she later allegedly caused “a large, visible bite mark to his right forearm,” according to court records.

Two juveniles were present at the time of the alleged assault.

Osterhout is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 12 in Dallas County District Court.

Osterhout was convicted of domestic abuse assault in 2009 in Polk County District Court. She was arrested on a charge of second-offense domestic abuse assault in Des Moines in 2015 but the case was later dismissed in Polk County District Court.
