A West Des Moines man was arrested Monday after allegedly assaulting his father and sister in the course of a domestic dispute.

Trevor Wayne Johnson, 23, of 1582 Nine Iron Dr., West Des Moines, was charged with two counts first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began about 7:30 p.m. Monday in the 1500 block of Nine Iron Drive in West Des Moines, where Johnson’s family members observed him “acting erratic,” including “yelling at his mother,” according to court records.

When the male victim attempted to intervene, Johnson allegedly “began striking” the male victim “in the head with his hands,” and the victim “sustained lacerations to his face/head and was bleeding,” according to court records.

The male victim and the female victim then “tried to restrain” Johnson “from harming them or from harming himself,” and the female victim “suffered an injury to her thumb,” and she “believed her thumb to be fractured,” according to court records.

Johnson was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing May 21 in Dallas County District Court.
