Daniel Robert Davis, 25, of Perry was arrested Friday on a charge of child endangerment-bodily injury.

A Perry man was arrested Friday after he allegedly injured a 10-year-old girl while disciplining her.

Daniel Robert Davis, 25, of 624 Willis Ave., Perry, was charged with child endangerment-bodily injury.

The incident occurred about 5 a.m. Wednesday in the 600 block of Willis Avenue, according to court records, where Davis allegedly “entered the victim’s room while she was asleep” and “flipped her bed over, causing her to fall to the floor.”

Davis allegedly “then grabbed the victim and hit her several times on her right buttocks,” according to court records.

Officers of the Perry Police Department observed on the victim “a scratch and bruise to her left forearm, just below her elbow,” and “a larger, oval-shaped bruise approximately four inches long on her right buttocks,” according to court records.

The injuries “made it difficult for the victim to sit on a chair on” the next day, when the “bruises on her arm and buttocks were still very visible,” according to court records.

Other occupants in the residence allegedly heard or saw the incident, according to court records.

Davis was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 4 in Dallas County District Court.

  1. This breaks my heart to read this. I hope to God Dallas County hangs you out to dry. How dare you treat a child like this? My prayers to the little girl.
