Perry man arrested after allegedly strangling Perry woman

Seth Blitz, 33, of Perry was arrested Saturday on a charge of domestic abuse assault-impeding flow of air/blood and on a Dallas County warrant for probation violation on an original charge of first-degree harassment.

A Perry man was arrested Saturday morning after he allegedly strangled a Perry woman in the course of a domestic dispute.

Seth Blitz, 33, of 2811 Warford St., Perry, was charged with domestic abuse assault-impeding flow of air/blood. He was also arrested on a Dallas County warrant for probation violation on an original charge of first-degree harassment.

The incident began about 12:30 a.m. Friday in the 2800 block of Warford Street, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Blitz allegedly “arm choked her from behind, slammed her to the ground, and continued choking her to the point that she was unable to breathe,” according to court records.

The victim told the officers that Blitz allegedly “struck her multiple times,” and “her jaw was dislocated,” Blitz allegedly “used a weapon, a bamboo stick, causing a bruise to her left leg,” according to court records.

The officers observed on the victim “has multiple abrasions, red marks, red dots on her fact, and bruising consistent with being choked,” according to court records.

Blitz is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 13 in Dallas County District Court.

Blitz was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness in 2017 in Dallas County District Court. He was convicted of two counts of second-offense domestic abuse assault in 2018 in Guthrie County District Court. He was convicted of second-offense domestic abuse assault in 2022 in Dallas County District Court. He was convicted of first-degree harassment in May in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
