A Dallas Center man was arrested early Friday after allegedly assaulting and harassing the folks next door.

Christopher Daniel Sorensen Jr., 34, of 521 Sycamore St., Dallas Center, was arrested for third-degree harassment and assault-place in fear of contact.

The incident began about 1:30 a.m. Friday in the 500 block of Sycamore Street in Dallas Center, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of “an intoxicated male trying to fight ‘everyone here,'” according to court records.

The deputies made contact with Sorensen, who presented with “slurred speech, strong odor of an unknown alcoholic beverage on his breath, bloodshot/watery eyes” and unsteadiness on his feet, according to court records.

The deputies made contact with a victim, who told the deputies that Sorensen allegedly said that he would “wait in the bushes until your wife isn’t around, and then I’m going to jump out,” and the victim “took this as a threat,” and it “alarmed him for fear of physical harm from Sorensen,” according to court records.

Sorensen also allegedly “charged at” a victim and tried to “swing a punch,” and he struck a victim “in the jaw,” according to court records.

Sorensen was held in the Dallas County Jail prior to his release on his own recognizance. He is scheduled for a pretrial conference July 23 in Dallas County District Court.
