The Urbandale-based Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home and Crematory, a family-owned and family-operated funeral service provider, has acquired Hastings Funeral Home in Perry, the company announced Friday.
The Caldwell Parrish Perry Chapel has been serving the Perry community since the company bought the Carris Family Funeral Home and Cremation Care at the end of 2023.
Existing arrangements made at Hastings will be honored under the Caldwell Parrish brand, the announcement said.
“If you have pre-arrangements at Hastings Funeral Home, they will continue to be honored with the utmost care and dedication here at Caldwell Parrish,” said Mark Parrish, owner of Caldwell Parrish Funeral Home and Crematory. “Please reach out to us directly for any specific inquiries about your arrangements. Our committed staff is here to ensure a smooth transition and answer any questions you may have.”
Parrish said the Caldwell Parrish team has a long-standing, established working relationship with the previous funeral home, assisting during peak times or when funeral home staff were out of town. He said the acquisition of Hastings Funeral Home solidifies the bond between Caldwell Parrish and the Perry community, reinforcing the commitment to upholding the values of respect, compassion and professionalism.
“We are truly grateful for this opportunity to continue serving the Perry community under the Caldwell Parrish name,” Parrish said. “Our doors are always open.”
Sorry to see the Hastings family retiring, but I certainly understand! They have been a great addition to the Perry community for many years, and I hope they have a great retirement!
