A West Des Moines woman was arrested early Friday after she allegedly brandished a kitchen knife in the course of a domestic dispute.

Christina Coronado, 38, of 7255 Lake Dr., West Des Moines, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-display or use a weapon and two counts of child endangerment.

The incident began about 12:45 a.m. in the 10700 block of Johnson Court, where Coronado allegedly “pushed” the victim in the course of a domestic dispute and then “picked up a kitchen knife and started to walk toward” the victim, according to court records.

Two minor children witnessed the event, and Coronado allegedly “threw the knife toward them,” according to court records.

Coronado is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
