A Booneville man was arrested early Saturday after allegedly assaulting his roommate in a Booneville bar.

Wade Dwight Hiatt, 26, of 31143 Main St., Booneville, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault and disorderly conduct-fighting or violent behavior.

The incident began about 12:45 a.m. Saturday at a tavern in the 35600 block of Ute Avenue in Booneville, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a fight in progress.

Hiatt and the victim left the scene before the arrival of law enforcement but were later found at a residence in the 31100 block of Main Street in Booneville and were identified by witnesses who observed the fight, according to court records.

The deputies observed on the victim “a swollen and cut eye and marks on his back,” according to court records.

Hiatt is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.

Hiatt was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault in 2022 in Union County District Court.
