Perry man allegedly assaults wife in Circle K Sunday

A Perry man was arrested early Sunday after allegedly assaulting his wife in a downtown convenience store.

Willie Lee Hall, 59, of 2109 W. Second St., Perry, was charged with third or subsequent offense domestic abuse assault.

The incident began shortly after midnight Sunday in a convenience store in the 1200 block of First Avenue, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a disturbance.

The officers located the victim “sitting on the ground near the alcohol aisle,” according to court records. Both Hall and the victim “were under the influence of alcohol and admitted that they were drinking.”

The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Hall allegedly “pushed her down” in the course of a dispute.

The officers observed on the victim “a small laceration on her arm that was actively bleeding,” according to court records.

Witness accounts and surveillance video from the store verified the victim’s account, according to court records.

Hall is held in the Dallas County jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Aug. 20 in Dallas County District Court.

Hall was convicted of domestic abuse assault in 2011 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of domestic abuse assault in 2018 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of domestic abuse assault in 2020 in Polk County District Court.
