A Waukee man was arrested Friday after he allegedly raped and strangled a Waukee woman in the home.

Steven King, 35, of Waukee was charged with first-degree sexual abuse and domestic abuse assault-impeding flow of air/blood.

The incident began about 7 p.m. Friday in the 100 block of Winfield Parkway, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that King allegedly “beat her” the night before and “that she was held down by her arms and was slapped
repeated (+25 times) in her head/face,” according to court records.

The victim told the officers that King allegedly “used his knees to hold her down, and pressed his knee on her throat when she would try to get up,” and he “then forced himself on her,” according to court records.

The officers observed on the victim “significant swelling of her jaw on the right side, dark purple bruising on her face, jaw and neck” and on “her left eye and behind her left ear,” according to court records.

King is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $500,000 cash-only bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Aug. 27 in Dallas County District Court.
