An Urbandale woman was arrested Monday afternoon after allegedly assaulting an Urbandale man in the home.
Yamiah Shaquell Freemont, 19, of 4401 160th Circle, Urbandale, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.
The incident began about 1:30 p.m. Monday in the 4400 block of 160th Circle, where officers of the Urbandale Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with a witness, who told the officers that a dispute arose over Freemont’s cell phone, with Freemont “lunging to gain possession of the phone which was in victim’s hand” after “having thrown a frying pan at the victim,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim “red abrasions consistent with fingernail scratch marks” on his arms, “a bite mark” on his wrist, “a bulging bruise behind the right ear and a scratch on the neck,” according to court records.
Freemont is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. She is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Aug. 30 in Dallas County District Court.
