A Minnesota man was arrested Wednesday morning after allegedly harassing a Waukee family in their home while wielding a knife and hammer.

Nolan Paul Carrigan, 42, of 3602 Gershwin Pl. N., Oakdale, Minnesota, was charged with first-degree harassment.

The incident began shortly after midnight Wednesday in the 200 block of Ashworth Drive in Waukee, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a male making threats.

The officers made contact with one of the victims, who told the officers that an unknown male, later identified as Carrigan, came to the residence and allegedly “threatened them with a hammer and knife,” according to court records.

The officers made contact with Carrigan at a nearby residence, where, “opening the door, he still had the hammer and knife in his hands,” according to court records.

Carrigan is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Sept. 23 in Dallas County District Court.
