Absentee ballots for the Nov. 5 general election will be available casting in the Dallas County Auditor’s office beginning in one week, on Wednesday, Oct. 16, Dallas County Auditor and Commissioner of Elections Julia Helm has announced.
Absentee ballots may be cast in person at the Dallas County Auditor’s office at 210 N. 10th St. in Adel during regular office hours, which are Monday through Friday from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. between Wednesday, Oct. 16 and Monday, Nov. 4.
In order to receive an absentee ballot through the mail, you must request one in writing. Request forms are available for download here or may be found at the Auditor’s office and on the Auditor’s website. All requests for ballots to be mailed must be received by the Auditor’s office by 5 p.m. on Monday, Oct. 21.
Ballots will be mailed starting on Wednesday, Oct. 16. In order for your ballot to count, it must be returned by the close of polls on election day.
Five locations for satellite absentee voting stations have been established for the Nov. 5 general election:

Tuesday, Oct. 22 – 12-6 p.m. - Waukee Lutheran Church of Hope
305 N.E. Dartmoor Dr. in Waukee
Thursday, Oct. 24 – 12-6 p.m. - Heartland Presbyterian Church
14300 Hickman Rd. in Clive
Saturday, Oct. 26 – 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. - Waukee United Methodist Church
2075 S.E. L.A. Grant Pkwy. in Waukee
Tuesday, Oct. 29 – 12-6 p.m.
All ballot styles will be available at all locations. Dallas-County-eligible voters interested in casting an in-person absentee ballot for the 2024 general election to be held Nov. 5 will have an opportunity to do so at all locations.
