A Des Moines man was arrested on a Dallas County warrant Wednesday in connection with a September incident in which he allegedly threatened to kill a Waukee woman as well as “her children and her parents,” according to court records.
Jeremiah Leigh Burke, 47, of 2337 E. 41st St., Des Moines, was charged with first-degree harassment.
According to court records, on Sept. 23 between 11 a.m. and 11 p.m., Burke allegedly called the victim’s cellular telephone 308 times.
Burke allegedly left 12 voicemails on the victim’s cellular telephone, “threatening to kill her and her family” and “to cut her face off,” according to court records.
A warrant for Burke’s arrest was ordered Sept. 24 in Dallas County District Court and served Nov. 13. Burke was transported Wednesday to the Dallas County Jail from the Iowa Medical and Classification Center in Coralville, where he was held on unrelated matters.

He was convicted of concealed weapons in 2010 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of domestic abuse assault in 2010 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of second-offense domestic abuse assault in 2021 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of interference with official acts in 2021 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of interference with official acts in 2022 in Polk County District Court.
