A Perry man awaiting trial on multiple felony and misdemeanor charges was arrested on a Dallas County warrant Friday after he crashed his truck in Boone County earlier this month.

Derrick Lynn Sandy, 55, of 13647 Patridge Trail, Perry, was first arrested in January 2022 and is charged with second-degree kidnapping, willful injury causing serious injury, assault while participating in a felony, assault while displaying a dangerous weapon, felon in possession of a firearm, first-degree harassment, false imprisonment, third-degree criminal mischief and obstruction of emergency communications.

Sandy’s pretrial release order was revoked Nov. 6, and a warrant for his arrest was served Nov. 15 after he “was involved in a single-vehicle crash in Boone County” on Nov. 5, according to court records.
