A Perry man was arrested Saturday after trying to elude officers of the Perry Police Department during the ice storm.
Julio Adrian Ruiz, 22, of 1421 Fifth St., Perry, was charged with interference with official acts and violation of a no-contact order.
The incident began about 10:45 a.m. Saturday at a residence in the 1400 block of Fifth Street, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a violation of a no-contact order.
The officers determined Ruiz was in the residence, and Ruiz was ordered to come out of a bedroom with his hands up.
Ruiz told the officers that “he would not be doing that,” according to court records, and he fled through a bedroom window.
Ruiz was later located near the intersection of Sixth and Lucinda streets, and he was taken into custody after a brief struggle, during which “two Perry Police Department patrol vehicles collided due to icy conditions,” according to the Dallas County Sheriff’s report for Dec. 16. No injuries were reported.
Ruiz was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a pretrial conference Jan. 7 in Dallas County District Court.
