A Booneville man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly assaulting a Booneville woman and “forcing her to use methamphetamine,” according to court records.
Walter Emil Bell, 51, of 28925 360th St., Booneville, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault, first-offense possession of a controlled substance-methamphetamine and first-offense possession of a controlled substance-marijuana.
The incident began about 5 p.m. Tuesday at a residence in the 28900 block of 360th Street in Booneville, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a disturbance.
The deputies made contact with the victim, who told the deputies that Bell allegedly “assaulted her and was forcing her to use methamphetamine,” according to court records.
The deputies observed on the victim “several bruises” on the victim’s “arms and legs,” according to court records.
A search of the residence disclosed “several glass pipes with residue” and “a small, plastic baggy” with 1 gram of “a white, crystalline substance,” which field tested positive for methamphetamine, and “several syringes with residue inside and other unknown substances,” according to court records.
Bell is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $4,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 18 in Dallas County District Court.
Bell was arrested in Booneville in July on a charge of second-offense domestic abuse assault. He pleaded guilty in December to a reduced charge of assault causing bodily injury or mental illness. He was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault in 2017 in Arizona.
