A Booneville man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly strangling a Booneville woman in the home in the presence of two children.

Kole Anakin Critchlow, 25, of 28925 360th St., Booneville, was arrested for domestic abuse assault-impeding flow of air/blood, obstruction of emergency communications and two counts of child endangerment.

The incident began about 9 p.m. at a residence in the 28900 block of 360th Street, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of as domestic disturbance.

Critchlow fled the scene with two minor children prior to the arrival of law enforcement.

The deputies made contact with the victim and observed “significant injuries to her neck and chest area to include scratches and red marks,” according to court records. The injuries were deemed “consistent with hands being placed around her neck and being strangled.”

The deputies later made contact with Critchlow, who allegedly “admitted to placing his hands on” the victim’s “neck and chest area where he then proceeded to push her down,” according to court records.

Critchlow had the victim’s phone in his possession when the deputies later made contact with him. He told the deputies that “he took it away from the victim because she told him she was going to call 911,” according to court records.

The children, ages 1 and 4, “were present in the home during the altercation,” according to court records.

Critchlow was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Feb. 3 in Dallas County District Court.

Critchlow was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness in 2024 in Dallas County District Court.
