Noemi Curiel of Perry has launched a GoFundMe campaign for her brother, Josue Curiel, 22, of Perry, who was killed in a car crash early Saturday. This is Noemi’s statement:

In loving memory of my little brother Josue Curiel.
On Jan. 25 Josue was tragically taken from us too soon, 10 minutes from making it home.
Josue was my parents’ baby. He still lived at home and was an incredible son who provided my parents with so much help, after my mom not working and my Dad recently losing his job after Tyson closing. Josue was not only a son, he was a brother, friend and the best uncle to five nieces and four nephews who loved him very much, and Josue loved them as well so very much. Josue would always be playing with them and making them laughing by just being his goofy self.
I am starting this campaign to raise funds to help my parents in this difficult time. All funds will go towards funeral expenses, helping my parents to take a little burden off their shoulders.
Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference. If you’re unable to make a donation, please consider sharing this campaign so others can help.
Thank you for keeping us in your thoughts and prayers.

The GoFundMe campaign was formed about 6 p.m. Monday and aims to raise $6,000 to cover Josue’s funeral expenses.
