The Perry schools will have a two-hour late start on Thursday, March 6, the Perry Community School District announced Wednesday evening.
The will be no morning prekindergarten, and the PACES program will begin at 8 a.m.
St. Patrick Catholic School will also start two hours late, the school announced. There will be no before-school care, and breakfast will not be served.
The DMACC Perry VanKirk Career Academy also announced a 10 a.m. opening Thursday. The building doors will unlock at 9 a.m.
The MCB will open at 8 a.m. on Thursday, March 6.
Many east-west gravel roads in the Perry area remain impassible Wednesday night, and the National Weather Service office in Johnston forecasts a band of moderate snow over central Iowa Thursday night into Friday. Moderate snow accumulations are increasingly
likely, the NWS said.
