About 150 people are attending the sixth annual Perry celebration of International Women’s Day Saturday morning at the Hotel Pattee.

The event started at 10 a.m. and lasts until noon.

Saily Bah, 12, of Urbandale, author and illustrator of “Rise Above: How to Turn a Negative Situation into a Positive One,” is among the featured speakers. She will join Dr. Kären Mason, Heidi Stoffel and Lori Rausch Seeley on the speaker’s podium.

Women remain a power in the land even as DEI efforts are curtailed in the public and private spheres.
