A Perry man was arrested Thursday in connection with incidents six months ago in which he allegedly repeatedly raped a 12-year-old girl from Perry.
Melver Noel Mendez Rodriguez, 19, of 2310 Lucinda St., Perry, was charged with three counts of second-degree sexual abuse.
According to court records, in an interview with officers of the Perry Police Department, Mendez Rodriguez “did admit to knowing the victim was underage and confessed to performing sex acts on her” on “three separate occasions” in November 2024.
Mendez Rodriguez is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $75,000 cash or surety bond, he is scheduled for a preliminary hearing April 28 in Dallas County District Court.
