A West Des Moines man was arrested Friday after allegedly assaulting a West Des Moines female in the home and leaving her with a large goose egg on her forehead.
Dalecio Markay Henderson, 26, of 6201 E. P. True Parkway, West Des Moines, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness and interference with official acts.
The incident began about 11:45 p.m. Friday at a residence in the 6200 block of E. P. True Parkway, where officers of the West Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
According to court records, a witness reported seeing Henderson allegedly “strike the victim in the head four to five times with a closed fist,” and then he “grabbed the victim’s head and slammed it into a nearby wall.”
While the officers spoke with Henderson, “it was learned that the victim was called in as a unconscious patient at the victim’s parents residence,” according to court records.
The officers later observed “a golf-ball-sized lump on the victim’s forehead,” according to court records.
When officers attempted to detain Henderson, he allegedly “became non-compliant to being put in handcuffs” and “had to be carried to a squad car by officers,” according to court records.
Henderson is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
