A Waukee woman was arrested early Thursday after allegedly assaulting a Waukee man in the home.

Alyssa Dawn Jessip, 20, of 741 N.E. Venture Dr., Waukee, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began shortly before midnight Wednesday at a residence in the 700 block of N.E. Venture Drive, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officers made contact with a witness, who told the officers that Jessip “had put hands on” the victim, both “on his neck and around his back,” according to court records.

The officers observed on the victim “scratch marks on his back that were fresh and bleeding as well as marks on the back side of his neck,” according to court records.

Jessip “admitted to putting her hands on him and pushing him down to the bed,” according to court records.

Jessip is held in the Dallas County Jail in advance of an initial appearance in Dallas County District Court.
