Perry, Grand Junction men allegedly assault two in Perry

Nicholas Arthur Harvey, 47, of Grand Junction was arrested Wednesday on a charge of assault causing serious injury; Justin William Harvey, 24, of Perry was arrested Wednesday on charges of assault causing serious injury and domestic abuse assault-impeding air/blood flow causing bodily injury.

A Grand Junction man allegedly assaulted a Perry man Wednesday night while his son allegedly assaulted a Perry woman at the same time and place.

Nicholas Arthur Harvey, 47, of 303 Seventh St. S., Grand Junction, was charged with assault causing serious injury.

Justin William Harvey, 24, of 2512 Perry Park Ave., Perry, was charged with assault causing serious injury and domestic abuse assault-impeding air/blood flow causing bodily injury.

The incident began about 9:45 a.m. at a residence in the 2500 block of Perry Park Avenue, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of an assault in progress.

The officers made contact with the female victim, who told the officers that Justin Harvey allegedly “had his hands around her throat” and “later forcefully moved his hand to her
throat outside of the apartment,” according to court records.

The officers observed on the victim “noticeable red abrasions and marks around her neck consistent with being choked,” according to court records.

In the course of the investigation, the officers “additionally discovered a physical altercation took place between” Nicholas Harvey and a male victim with the same last name as the female victim.

Officers observed on the male victim “severe road rash and pain resonating from their upper torso near the collar bone area,” according to court records. The victim “was not able to move his right arm due to his injury.”

Nicholas Harvey is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing June 2 in Dallas County District Court.
