A Des Moines man was arrested Sunday after he allegedly assaulted a Waukee woman and posted a partially nude photograph of her to social media without her consent.
Thomas Allen Rounds, 50, of 3414 S.W. 12th St., Des Moines, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness, first-degree harassment and invasion of privacy.
The incident began about 10:45 p.m. Friday at a motel in the 2800 block of Grand Prairie parkway in Waukee, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.
The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Rounds allegedly “slapped her on the left side of her face three times,” according to court records.
The officers observed on the victim “a new bruise on the underside of her chin, and several (older) yellow bruises on her legs,” according to court records.
Rounds left the location before the police arrived.
On the following day, Rounds allegedly uploaded to his social media account “a picture of a partial nude photograph of the victim without her consent,” according to court records. The photograph of the victim was taken while she was asleep and without her consent.
Rounds is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $5,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing July 3 in Dallas County District Court.
Rounds was convicted of disorderly conduct in 2002 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of disorderly conduct in 2008 in Polk County District Court. He was convicted of assault without intent causing serious injury and going armed with intent in 2012 in Polk County District Court.
