A Dallas Center man was arrested July 4 after allegedly assaulting a Dallas Center woman in the home.

Lane Richard Kuehl, 62, of 23170 V Ave., Dallas Center, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault.

The incident began about 13:30 p.m. Friday in a residence in the 23100 block of V Avenue in rural Dallas Center, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The deputies made contact with the victim, who told the deputies that Kuehl allegedly “put his hands around her throat and started squeezing,” according to court records.

Asked by a deputy whether “his arm made contact with” the victim, Kuehl “admitted it made contact with her neck,” according to court records.

Kuehl was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $300 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a pretrial conference Aug. 8 in Dallas County District Court.
