The National Weather Service office in Des Moines has issued a flood watch for the Perry area from Thursday at 7 p.m. until Friday at 7 a.m.
Excessive runoff might result in flash flooding of rivers, creeks, streams and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams might rise out of their banks.
Along with Dallas County, the flood watch comprises Sac, Calhoun, Webster, Hamilton, Crawford, Carroll, Greene, Boone, Story, Audubon, Guthrie, Polk, Cass, Adair, Madison and Warren counties.
Along with Perry, cities under the flood watch include Rockwell City, Webster City, Adel,
Audubon, Wall Lake, Norwalk, Sac City, Greenfield, Schaller, Odebolt, Adair, Denison, Bayard, Fontanelle, Jefferson, Boone, Carlisle, Winterset, Early, Des Moines, Guthrie Center, Atlantic, Earlham, Pomeroy, Ames, Casey, Lake View, Manson, Waukee, Exira, Stuart, Panora, Fort Dodge, Lake City, Carroll and Indianola.
