Ray Harden of Perry, a founding member of the Society of Retired Educators (SORE), now known as the Society of Retired Experts, celebrated his 83rd birthday Friday at the Courtyard Cafe in Perry with coffee and sweet rolls among his fellow SORE members.
Helping Harden celebrate were John Andorf, Jim Caufield, Nick Eakins, Ken Finer, Lou Hoger, Joe Shelly, Tom Ulrich and Doug Volz.
Volz was Harden’s longtime fellow Dallas Soil and Water Conservation District commissioner, and he shared about 100 ears of his fresh sweet corn with the SORE membership.
