Miguel Angel Preciado Torres, 36, of Perry was arrested Wednesday on charges of second-offense domestic abuse assault and false imprisonment.

A Perry man was arrested Wednesday after allegedly assaulting a Perry woman and holding her against her will inside a Perry residence.

Miguel Angel Preciado Torres, 36, of 1913 Fifth St., Perry, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault and false imprisonment.

The incident began about 7 p.m. Wednesday at a residence in the 1900 block of Fifth Street, where officers of the Perry Police Department responded to a report of a domestic assault.

The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Preciado “struck her with a closed fist in her face” and that “she was struck so hard that she soiled herself,” according to court records.

The victim told the officers that Preciado Torres allegedly “would not allow her to leave the residence’s bedroom,” and “would not allow her to go anywhere,” according to court records.

The officers observed on the victim “swelling to the right side of her face near her lower jaw” and “noticeable swelling and abrasions on her right arm,” according to court records.

Preciado Torres was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $4,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Aug. 25 in Dallas County District Court.

Preciado Torres was convicted on first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness in 2012 in Dallas County District Court.
