A West Des Moines man was arrested Wednesday night after allegedly threatening to kill a West Des Moines woman.

Luba Fabien Kasongo, 53, of 545 88th St., West Des Moines, was charged with first-degree harassment.

The incident began about 6:30 p.m. Wednesday at a residence in the 7700 block of Cottonowood Lane, where officers of the West Des Moines Police Department responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that in the course of a domesatic dispute, Kosongo allegedly “told the victim that he came there to target her, that he wanted to kill her and that he was going to shoot her,” according to court records.

The victim told the officers that Kosongo’s “aggressive demeanor, his level of anger and the statements he made towards her made her fearful enough to call for police intervention” according to court records.

Kasongo was held is the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash-only bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Aug. 29 in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
