Bouton man arrested for allegedly hammering Bouton woman

Scott Robert Hansen, 50, of Bouton was arrested Wednesday on a charge of second-offense domestic abuse assault.

A Bouton man was arrested Wednesday on a Dallas County warrant in connection with an incident in which he allegedly assaulted a Bouton woman with a hammer.

Scott Robert Hansen, 50, of 311 W. First St., Bouton, was charged with second-offense domestic abuse assault.

The incident began about 5 a.m. Wednesday at a residence in the 300 block of W. First Street in Bouton, where Dallas County Deputy Sheriffs responded to a report of a domestic disturbance.

The deputies made contact with the victim, who told the deputies that in the course of a domestic dispute, Hansen allegedly “was holding a hammer and stated, ‘I’ll get you,’ and raised the hammer to hit her,” according to court records.

Hansen then allegedly “hit her in the right elbow area, causing an open wound,” according to court records.

A warrant for Hansen’s arrest was ordered Aug. 27 in Dallas County District Court and served Aug. 27. Hansen was held in the Dallas County Jail on a $2,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Sept. 8 in Dallas County District Court.

Hansen was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault in 2019 in Dallas County District Court. He was convicted of first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness in 2020 in Dallas County District Court. He was convicted of four counts of intimidation with a dangerous weapon in 2013 in Dallas County District Court. He was convicted of two counts of second-degree harassment in 2010 in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
