The Perry High School swim team narrowly dropped a dual meet to guest Algona High School Thursday at the McCreary Community Building, but they bested both Indianola High School and Atlantic High School at home on Tuesday.
The final score in Thursday’s match was Algona 79, Perry 71. On Tuesday the Jayettes edged out Indianola 80 to 78 and beat Atlantic 91 to 51, and Indianola outdistanced Atlantic 100 to 42.
“We came up a little short but I was very impressed with how the team swam tonight,” Head Coach Jean Dowd said after the Thursday event. “There were four personal best times and several swimmers debuting in events, too. Special thanks to the PHS volleyball team for coming out to support us tonight!”
Perry swimmers won 7 of 11 events against Algona.
