Clive man allegedly assaults Waukee woman in home

A Clive man was arrested Tuesday after allegedly assaulting a Waukee woman in theĀ  home.

Eric Michael Sanders, 54, of 16893 Madison Circle, Clive, was charged with first-offense domestic abuse assault-bodily injury or mental illness.

The incident began Tuesday at a residence in the 600 block of S.E. Booth Avenue in Waukee, where officers of the Waukee Police Department responded to a disconnected 911 call.

The officers made contact with Sanders, who presented with an injury to his forehead and “a bite mark on his chest,” according to court records.

The officers made contact with the victim, who told the officers that Sanders allegedly “grabbed her by the arms and forced her onto the bed,” according to court records.

The officers observed on the victim “visible bruises on her arms consistent with this” and “a
mark on her lip and right eye,” according to court records.

Sanders is held in the Dallas County Jail on a $1,000 cash or surety bond. He is scheduled for a preliminary hearing Sept. 15 in Dallas County District Court.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
