DES MOINES — The Iowa Newspaper Association announced its 2016 All-State Boys Basketball teams for Class 4A, 3A, 2A and 1A Tuesday, naming Linn-Mar’s Jordan Bohannon as Mr. Basketball. Bohannon, a University of Iowa signee, averaged 25.8 points per game this season, which led Class 4A and was third overall in the state. He led the state with 92 3-pointers made, shooting 42.8 percent from that range.
Bohannon also made 121 of 131 free throws (92.4 percent). He finished his career with 44 points in a Class 4A substate final overtime loss to Cedar Falls. He is the Cedar Rapids-Marion Metro’s area’s all-time leading free throw shooter and its third-highest career scorer.

Perry’s Shammond Ivory was named to the Class 3A First Team at one of three Back Court spots. A 6-2 senior, he was a Second Team choice by the INA last season.
Ivory was fifth in 3A in total scoring with 511 points, with his 22.2 point per game average fifth best. He finished his senior season with 84 rebounds, 83 assists and 40 steals while shooting 113-of-179 (63 percent) at the foul line.
A potent force driving to the basket, Ivory connected on 136-of-210 (65 percent) two-point field goal and 42-of-134 (31 percent) behind the 3-point arc to finish 178-of-344 (52 percent) overall from the floor.
Ivory leaves Perry as the school’s all-time career leader in points scored with 1,708, shattering the old standard of 1,306 set by Mark Einck in 1978. He pulled down 268 career rebounds, made 285 assists and had 210 steals in 92 career games. The southpaw landed 122-of-424 3-pointers (29 percent) and 354-of-572 free throws (62 percent) while shooting 616-of-1295 (48 percent) from the floor and averaging 18.6 ppg in his career.

Perry finished 52-42 overall and 30-18 in his four years after a 15-10 overall and 8-6 Raccoon River Conference record this year. The Bluejays won the RRC outright last season while reaching the substate finals and played in the state quarterfinals this year.
Dylon Storey, a 6-3 senior from Bondurant-Farrar, was chosen for the Third Team at a Utility spot. He joins Ivory as the only two members of the RRC to earn All-State status this season.
The INA has provided a complete listing of the three teams in all-four classes.
