Nine members of the Des Moines-based Published Authors Liaison group toured the sights in downtown Perry Thursday evening with their tour guide, Jan Kaiser of Woodward, director of Kick Marketing.
The tour began at the Carnegie Library Museum, where longtime Carnegie volunteer Katie Schott revealed the 112-year-old landmarks many notable features. Perry Public Library Director Mary Murphy also shared information.
After learning a little of Perry’s history, the authoresses strolled through Soumas Court on their way to La Poste LLC, where they enjoyed live music and dined on pizza and salad.
“Many in the group admitted that it was their first visit to Perry,” Kaiser said, “but they quickly added that they hope to come back soon.”
All the writers in the Published Authors Liaison are traditionally published authors, Kaiser said, including two who are currently working on a collaborative project set in the fictional town of Panther Creek — a place with some striking similarities to the town of Perry.
