A wide cross section of Dallas County’s charitable, civic and governmental groups shared funding in the Bock Family Foundation spring granting cycle, and they gathered in the Perry Public Library Community Room Monday afternoon to receive their checks.
Bock Family Foundation President Paul Burrow and Foundation Executive Director Scott Finneseth distributed more than $73,000 to 33 successful applicants in this cycle. Finneseth said groups applied for about $230,000 in for grant funding, making choosing among many worthy projects difficult for the foundation’s board.
Founded in 2002, the Bock Family Foundation has awarded more than $1.3 million to groups serving religious, charitable, scientific, literary or educational purposes in Dallas County. Along with Burrow and Finneseth, the foundation’s board also includes Vice President John Powell, Secretary Joyce VanKirk, Harley Weyer, Jon S. Peters, Jean Bromert and Brent Halling.
