A downed power line in the 1400 block of the alley between Fifth and Sixth streets brought the Perry Police Department and Perry Volunteer Fire Department to the scene Tuesday night about 9 p.m.
The caller reporting the incident said the power line was tangled in a nearby tree and around a camper and was “throwing sparks.” The caller said the broken line “was starting to set the tree on fire.”
The fire was quickly extinguished by the firefighters. Alliant Energy was called to repair the break.
