  • A caller said he lost his billfold.
  • A caller said a cable television line was down. An officer responded and notified the local cable television provider.
  • A caller said his neighbor “clipped” the caller’s rental car. The caller said he wanted to report the collision for insurance purposes.
  • A caller said he accidentally locked himself inside his vehicle and could not get out. He said “he broke a window to try and get out, but he is not able to.” An officer responded and found the caller “was able to get himself out.”
  • A caller said his elderly aunt’s smoke detector was “chirping at her residence.” An officer responded and “changed the battery” for the elderly aunt.
  • A caller said he was assaulted. He said “he went to the hospital and has a broken jaw.” An officer responded.
  • A caller said she was “disturbed from the smell emitting from” a nearby kennel. An officer responded and “did observe the dog kennel to have feces on the ground and a strong smell.” Andrew Anliker, 1620 Sixth St., Perry, was issued a citation for second-offense tethering. Anliker “also received a second copy of the city ordinance.”
  • A caller said “a group of juveniles” was gathered at the Perry Public Library. The caller said “two females jumped out in front of her car when she was driving by.” The caller said she was “concerned someone is going to hit them.” An officer responded and spoke with the children, who said “they were crossing the street when this vehicle nearly hit them.” The officer “advised them to be more careful.”
  • A caller said an opossum was “under a baby pool in her back yard.” An officer responded, “caught the opossum” and “transported it out of town, where she released it.”
  • A caller said “her client” told her that “while in Exist House he had sex with three of the staff members.” The caller said she “reported it” to the Iowa Department of Human Services and “wants a police report.” Officers responded.
  • A caller said his daughter’s vehicle was involved in a hit-and-run accident overnight. An officer responded, made contact with the caller, “took photos and observed white paint transfer on the vehicle.” Damage to the caller’s daughter’s vehicle was estimated at $2,000.
  • A caller said neighbors were “burning in their fire pit and left the residence, leaving the fire unattended.” An officer responded and made contact with the burner, who said “he would watch the fire or put it out.”
  • A caller from a local fast-food outlet said “about 30 kids” were “inside their facility being loud” and “as they left, they threw garbage all over their parking lot.” Officers responded and made contact with “approximately 16 kids” who “admitted to being a little rowdy.” The officers “advised the kids to be respectful, return and make sure all the trash was picked up” and to do so “while being quiet about it. The kids complied.”

August 31, 2016

  • A 911 caller at the Farm Progress Show in Boone said “their friend who is 32 years of age fell of their truck and is now unconscious. He was intoxicated.” The caller said the unconscious man was breathing. The office of the Boone County Sheriff was notified.

*A criminal charge is merely an accusation, and the defendant is presumed innocent until and unless proven guilty.
