The Humane Society of Perry will conduct its annual rabies vaccination clinic Sept. 18 from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the Perry Dog Park on W. Fifth Street south of the ball diamonds.
“Dr. Lisa Thilges of Prairie View Animal Clinic in Grimes has kindly volunteered her labor so we may offer this service,” said Abby Benifiel, director of the Humane Society of Perry. She said the rabies clinic is the Humane Society of Perry’s most requested program.
“The last year when we offered this service, 85 pets were vaccinated,” Benifiel said. “Let’s try to beat that number this year. Please tell your friends and neighbors.”
She said a donation of $10 per pet is requested. Microchipping will also be available.
Vaccinations are offered on a walk-in basis only. No appointment is required. Dogs should be well controlled on a leash, and all cats must be in carriers.
“Children are welcome,” Benifiel said. “No leash required.”
